I went to the supermarket last week to buy groceries (bahan makanan). I started (mulai) shopping at 9 a.m. and took (mengambil) shopping cart (kereta belanja) to carry (membawa) everything. Then, I looked for (mencari) some fruits and vegetables in the produce section, but I made sure(memastikan) they (buah dan sayur) were fresh ( segar). My kids like milk, so I swung by (mampir/ berhenti) to the dairy section (bagian susu) and bragged (meraih) a few gallons of milk. Since (karena) I have no time for cooking, I decided (memutuskan) to buy some frozen food (makanan yang di es-kan) in the frozen food section. Unfortunately (sayangnya), the store (toko) was out of stock (kehabisan stok), so I had to drop (harus berhenti/ mampir lagi) to a different supermarket (swalayan lain) on my way home (sambil menuju pulang). At 11 a.m. I had got (sudah mendapatkan) what I needed (perlukan/ butuhkan). then I paid cash at the cashier counter (kounter pembayaran).

Hello Everybody! Menjelang UN, kemungkinan akan dilaksanakan akhir Maret, Pemerintah melakukan beberapa kali TRY OUT (Uji Coba UN) untuk pelajaran Mat, B.Ind, B. Ingg, dan IPA. So, let's prepare ourselves to face UN. Here, the tips how to answer B. Inggris:
1. Kenali jenis teksnya:
* Notice: To warn/ advise (memperingatkan/ menyarankan)
- makna (the meaning), where do you find (dimana)
- (lihat contoh soal pada tayangan sebelumnya)
* AnnouncementTo announce/ tell (mengumumkan, menyampaikan)
-To whom (kepada siapa), in what occasion (dlm rangka/ situasi apa)
- time (waktu), place (tempat)
* Invitation: To invite/ to ask (mengundang)
To whom, in what occasion, time, place, the correct statement (pernyataan yg benar)
* Short message: To whom, The content (isi), what for (untuk apa), the correct statement.

Purpose : to show/ tell how to make/ do something (menyampaikan bagaimana membuat/melakukan sesuatu)
- the materials (bahan-bahan), equipment/ tools (alat), the steps/ procedures (langkah-langkah)

 *Narrative Text:
Purpose : to entertain/ to amuse (menghibur)
-the title of the text (judul cerita), the main idea of (ide utama dari), the word refers to (kata mengacu/ menunjukkan siapa/ apa), the same meaning/ synonym (kata yang sama),
-information in the text (informasi lain dalam text), moral value/ what can we learn (nilai moral/ apa yg dapat kita pelajari dari cerita)

2.  Baca secara keseluruhan (boleh 2 kali), dan gunakan kosakata yang kamu kuasai untuk menentukan isi teks.
3. Untuk teks rumpang (isian teks), pahamilah terlebih dahulu pilihan/ opsinya, kemudian pilih yg sesuai.
4. Untuk menyusun kata yang diacak (arrange the jumbled words):
    - Kalimat pernyataan : susunannya adalah Subject Predicate Object Keterangan.
    - Kalimat Perintah/ imperatif: susunannya adalah Predicate Object dan seterusnya.
    - Note: Keterangan dapat juga berada di depan kalimat.
5. Untuk menyusun kalimat yang diacak (Arrange the jumbled sentences):
   - Perhatikan hubungan kalimat yang satu dengan yang lainnya.

A Bad Day

In a village on the suburbs of a large city, there is a man living with his family. His name is Jaultop. He has 5 children, 1 son, 4 daughters. He always leaves for work early in the morning and comes home at about 4 pm from Mondays to Fridays.
            One day on the way when he wanted to get home, he suddenly had an accident. It was not far from his house. He hit a child aged about 10 years. He was very shock. a lot of people coming. Jaultop was very scared, while helping children to stand, he worried, those people would punched him. One other rider said, "He's not wrong, but the child is wrong.” Then he left.
             Jaultop then took the boy to one of the residents’ house, asking a woman, the owner, to give the child a glass of fresh water. One of the residents said, "Hey, you have to be responsible." Jaultop answered, "I'm not wrong, the boy who suddenly turned right. It is only 2 meters away."
             Not long afterwards, a citizen contacted the boy's father, and shortly thereafter his father came, while the child was being brought by citizens to the shaman to treat.
Fortunately, boy's father is a civil servant. He asked Jaultop about the incident. "What happened, sir," asked the boy's father. Jaultop explained it and then they sit together to talk the case in kinship. As a moral responsibility, Jaultop willing to pay for one treatment.
             Perhaps that day is bad for Jaultop. He realized that disaster can happen anytime to anyone. And since then Jaultop always be careful in driving.

         Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, and are known for their role in pollination and for producing honey and beeswax. There are nearly 20.000 known species of bees in nine recognized famillies though many are undescribed and the actual number is probably higher. They are found on every continent except Antartica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants.
         Bees have a long proboscis ( a complex "tongue") that enables them to obtain the nectar from flowers. They have antennae almost universally made up of 13 segments in males and 12 in females, as is typical for the super family. Bees all have two pairs of wings, the hind pair being the smaller of the two; in a very few species, one sex or caste has relatively short wings that make flight difficult or impossible, but none are wingless.
          The smallest bee is Trigona minima, a stingless bee whose workers are about 2.1 mm (5/64") long. The largest bee in the world is Megachile pluto, a leafcutter bee whose females can attain a length of 39 mm (1.5"). Members of the family Halictidae, or sweat bees, are the most common type of bee in the Nothern Hemisphere, though they are small and often mistaken for wasps or flies.

Thanksgiving Paper Chain
Things you need:
* Ruler
* Pencil
* Construction paper (red, yellow, green, blue)
* Scissors 
* Marker
* Clear tape
Steps:
  ^ Measure and mark off the strips on the different pieces of construction paper. Make the strips all 1 inch wide and 8.5 inches long. Cut the strips out carefully with the scissors and make separate piles for each strip color.
^ Use the marker to begin to write things each person is thankful for onto the centre of the strips. Use an assortment of different-colored strips to write the thankful-for messages.
^ Group all of the strips with thankful items in a pile, and use the strips without writing as filler between the thankful strips.
^ Take a thankful strip and make a circle with it, overlapping the ends by approximately 1/2 inch. Make sure the writing faces out, so people will be able to read it. tape the ends in place.
^ Take a filler strip and pass one end through the circle of the thankful strip. Make a circle with the filler strip, overlapping the ends 1/2 inch. Tape these ends in place.
^ Continue making circles with the strips and connecting them to make a chain.
^ Leave some strips and a marker available for adding more thankful-for links to add the chain as you think of them.
